About Me

David Gnass: Kingston, Ontario, Canada; David Gnass was born in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1966. While his artistic talents were encouraged during his schooling -- pencil drawing, water colour, cartooning. It was a natural talent he did not value in his youth. Moving to the Toronto area in 1985, it wasn’t until the late 90’s that Gnass began to paint. He started focusing on figurative studies of great jazz musicians from a love of Jazz music he discovered in his twenties. In the early 2000’s he began to concentrate almost entirely on painting the Canadian landscape from a desire to share the beauty of God’s creative work. Spending time in northern Ontario locales -- inspired by the work of the “Group of Seven” -- he began to nuance a style of his own in the medium of oil on canvas. Inspired by the birth of his daughter and the encouragement of his partner Azza, he recently began cartooning again and illustrating children’s books while still maintaining his desire to share the splendours of Canadian wildlife and landscape.

This is a cartoon book featuring Bobby, a dog with ideas on how people can be active after they retire. Bobby shares his ideas with the reader. He also provides illustrations of his two masters, both retirees, performing each activity in a way that is silly or perilous to them, but humorous to the reader.
